Marius Florea

Hi, I am Marius Florea, 30 years old and I started my photography journey about 10 years ago.

Even before my connection with photography, I was very attached to everything that was astronomy related. Later, when I bought my first camera (canon 1100D), I remember like it was yesterday, I thought “oh cool, now I can take long exposures”
And straight off the bat, I became in love with nightscapes, long exposure, landscape and astrophotography.
3 years ago I stepped in the direction of tracked astrophotography, a technique which allows for much more detailed images of the night sky.
I went the “rabbit hole” and also bought a second-hand camera that I astro-modified myself, to allow the capture of all the Hydrogen-Alpha emissions that are present throughout our galaxy in nebulae.

Another photographic genre that is very dear to me is underwater photography. Being able to explore both the depths of the cosmos and also the depths of our seas and oceans creates “humbling and character building experience”, just like how Mr. Carl Sagan used to say.
